Baby Kyla Biwott, a baby who underwent two operations to restore her sight in India, is still recovering says Mike Sonko.
This comes after Mike Sonko, who has been paying for her medical treatment, said that the child underwent surgery on Wednesday to have the stitches out of her eyes.
Born blind, Kyla, a baby from Bamburi Kiembeni in Mombasa County, was brought to Sonko by her mother in an effort to save her daughter’s sight.
They met while she was working as a waiter in Westlands, Nairobi.
Mike Sonko shared an update saying:
“Remember the sad story of Baby Kyla from Bamburi Kiembeni Mombasa who was blind since she was born but by the Grace of God her sight was restored when I took over her case and flew her to Hyderabad India for a successful cornea transplant 6 years ago.”
“Since last month, the stitches were supposed to be taken out, but there was a delay. However, I’m relieved that the stitches at the Light House for Christ Eye Center were successfully removed today “the former governor of Nairobi revealed.
“Late last year we sent her back to India again for another surgery after developing some complications. The stitches were to be removed since last month but there was delay.”
“However today I’m glad the stitches have been successfully removed at the light house for Christ eye Centre in Mombasa, ” he adds further.
“Let’s continue putting Baby Kayla in prayers. Let total healing be her portion in the mighty Holy name of Jesus,” he prays.
In 2017, he helped them get on a plane and travel to India, where she received a successful cornea transplant.
The child apparently experienced difficulties in 2022 and required a second surgery.
