The self proclaimed president of single mothers/parents made the suggestion saying that parents suffer a lot during admission.
She shared a photo of a parent taking his child to school while carrying a mattress on his head. They had boarded a motorcycle.
“Sometimes being a parent feels like a punishment other than a blessing. His Excellency once settled in the office. Kindly consider all mattresses and boxes to be provided in schools. I am not sure how long daddy is going to hold this mattress in his head without resilience. You can’t even think of this. Parents suffer a lot during form one admissions,” the philanthropist said.
She added the items should be part of the school property so that learners can leave them behind for new lots of students once they complete their studies.
“Can we consider having Boxes and mattresses as part of the school property and when they reach form four they leave it in the schools for the next coming lot,” Akothee said.
She further said that most parents are from areas with poor infrastructure as well as schools which further adds to their list of burdens.
“Most parents come from rural areas with no infrastructure, some schools are also located in places with poor infrastructure. How parents manage all this is by God’s grace. Let us try make education lighter for it not to look like a punishment to being a parent. As team Akothee & kenyans we shall support this motion. Ama vipi ?” she posed.
