Former Radio Presenter Andrew Kibe has claimed that he lost a huge some of money to scammers via his Safaricom line.
Taking to Twitter, the content creator said that he lost the unknown amount of money after messaging Safaricom through Twitter. He believes that that is how the scammers got his phone number.
Kibe is suspecting that an employee of Safaricom has something to do with the scam.
“Sema kuoshwa nikaosheka, how the scammers got my number and I had just inboxed @SafaricomPLC is a mystery to me. Hapa na suspect inside job. Someone at this company is selling client information or your twitter account is fake,” he said.
He shared details of the number that was used to contact him, urging his followers to help him in identifying the telecommunication company’s official Twitter handle.
“Don’t be like KIBE, this is not a Safcom line. But which is their official twitter handle maybe we save a Kinuthia like me from kuoshwa? @SafaricomPLC@Safaricom_Care@SafaricomFDN,” he said.

Kibe further threatened to do the unthinkable to the scammers if he finds them and urged the DCI, ICT CS and Safaricom CEO to do their part before many Kenyans fall victims of the conmen.
“Scammers hawana aibu, this matha fakas got my number from Safaricom’s official twitter handle and have the guts to send me this message. Hii nikipata nikuweka taya!
@PeterNdegwa_ @DCI_Kenya @EliudOwalo amkeni before tumalizwe,” he added.
Responding to a comment on one of Kibe’s tweets, Safaricom however said that it does not share their customers’ information with any third parties.
