Veteran News Anchor Catherine Kasavuli In Urgent Need Of Blood As She Battles Cancer 

TV Queen Catherine Kasavuli has been admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai took to social media to ask Kenyans to urgently donate blood to the veteran journalist.

“TV Queen Catherine Kasavuli is admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. She urgently needs blood donation.

“Kindly rush to KNH private wing and donate blood to Catherine Kasavuli. Any blood group would do,” Alai tweeted.

Kasavuli is one of the most celebrated TV personalities in Kenya, boasting a career spanning over 30 years.

She work at KTN for the better part of her media career before she announced her retirement on July 4, 2013.

After retiring from anchoring news, Kasavuli retreated into corporate affairs and eventually went off the limelight.

After eight years in the cold, Kasavuli made a comeback on the screens in June 2021 thanks to a new deal she has signed with KBC to anchor weekend news.

Kasavuli become a beneficiary of KBC’s 2021 rebrand which created bulletins that gave a chance to legendary anchors to ply their trade.

“I wanted to come to KBC to train anchors to hone their skills but never expected an offer of this magnitude. It’s amazing and exciting, I am truly humbled by the gesture and warmth I have received from the KBC fraternity and Kenyans,” said Kasavuli on making a comeback on KBC.
