Boniface Mwangi: I Will Hold Ruto Accountable, I shall continue Being The People’s Watchman

Boniface Mwangi has vowed to continue with his activism if a petition by Azimio at the Supreme Court fails to stop William Ruto from ascending to power.

Mwangi campaigned for the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance led by Raila Odinga and Martha Karua.

“I believe in the leadership of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and Hon. Martha Karua. For several months, I assumed a front-row seat in their campaign, seeking to propel them to the presidency. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported our campaign.

“In this election, I exercised my Constitutional rights, chose a political side, and l gave it my all. I believe in the vision of these two peerless patriots and human rights defenders. As we traversed the country on the campaign trail, we were met with a lot of love and warmth amplified and reinforced by millions of votes on the ballot. I experienced your raw passion for patriotism and abiding desire for a better country,” Boniface Mwangi wrote.

He added that;

“Thank you to those who answered my calls, or responded to my posts online. To those who gave their time and money to this campaign, we see you and appreciate you. The outcome of the presidential vote is headed to court but, as we wait for that process, we should congratulate ourselves for remaining calm and peaceful. We did well as Kenyans.

“I sincerely thank Hon. Martha Karua for giving me a chance to volunteer in her campaign secretariat. This opportunity of a lifetime saw me closely interact with the heroes of our second liberation. I saw them proudly wear the scars that are now the immortal emblems of the freedom that we enjoy today. They reminded me to never relent in the fight for a just country. The lessons l learned will forever remain with me. Thank you, Martha.

“To those who follow me online, or offline, and voted for Azimio because of me, your vote wasn’t in vain. Thank you so much.”

The Rights Activist further vowed to hold William Ruto accountable if the Supreme Court fails to nullify the disputed presidential results.

“Apart from the presidential vote, we voted for leaders in other positions. Our role didn’t end with voting. It is our civic duty to hold them accountable. They must do the job they were elected for. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

“I shall continue being the people’s watchman, the unelected, unappointed, and unpaid position you entrusted me with. I’m an eternal optimist and the struggle for a more equal Kenya continues. And so many battles of liberty, my fellow patriots, remain to be won.

Aluta Continua…”
