Mishi Dorah spent 38 days in prison after she failed to raise bail to secure her freedom.
The former Nairobi Diaries actress was arrested and charged after she defaulted on a Ksh152,550 hotel bill.
The broke actress was accused of incurring the bill at Golden Ice Bistro at Next Gen Mall in South C.
The court freed her on Ksh50,000 cash bail and an alternative bond of Ksh100,000 with a surety of a like sum, but she was unable to raise the amount.
Speaking during an interview with Dr Ofweneke on TV47 after she was released, Mishi Dorah revealed that she was in remand prison for 38 days.
“I was in jail for 38 days. Look at my skin Ofweneke, nimekulwa na chawa look at me my beautiful skin that used to glow, it’s bad, prison is hell I don’t think there is another other hell apart from prison,” she said.
The controversial socialite further claimed that the state took away her children after she was sent to remand prison, claiming that she was yet to get her kids back.
“I got out but I’m not okay, I don’t have my kids they were taken to the orphanage. My house was closed, I’m not even in my house right now I’m just trying to bounce back coz I know myself I’m not a woman that gives up easily. So it doesn’t matter what people say I know what I’m going through,” she said.
Dorah further said that she had not settled the Ksh152,550 hotel bill that saw her become a guest of the state for 38 days.
“How can I pay the bill when I haven’t gotten my kids back? My first p[priority is getting my kids back and get my house back?” she posed.
However, a netizen familiar with Mishi Dorah dismissed her claim that the state took away her children.
The person reported that the socialite is a pathological liar, revealing that her two kids have always been at the orphanage because she can’t take care of them while her three-month-old baby was with her father.
“Her kids have always been in the orphanage. This woman can lie. She took her 3 months old child to her dad. The other 2 have always been at the orphanage. Setting standards na ata hawezi lea watoto wake. No wonder she’s doing everything but blessing zinamkataa,” the informant wrote.
