Diamond Reveals He Is Still Proud Of Harmonize Even Though They Fell Out

Diamond Platnumz spoke on former Wasafi artistes quitting his record label following Rayvanny’s exit.

Rayvanny on July 12, 2022, officially parted ways with Diamond’s record label Wasafi after six years.

Diamond opened up about artistes leaving Wasafi during a recent interview with DW Africa.

The Tanzanian singer stressed that he was glad for nurturing young talents.

According to Diamond, he always dreamt of empowering young people from the moment he recorded his first song.

“After I had just dropped my first hit and people could recognise my music, I got a feeling that I had to empower more youth and that is why I started the Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) record label,” he said.

Diamond went ahead to state that all the artistes he has mentored including Harmonize are superheroes in the music industry and that he is very proud of them.

“I have introduced many artistes but I have not just introduced artistes but superheroes.

“So now they are role models to other youths and that is what I want to do. I want to use my platform to empower more so they can also empower other people. As Africans we need to empower others,” he said

Even though Diamond is proud of introducing ‘superheroes’, he is still locked in a beef with Harmonize.

In 2019, drama played out at Wasafi after Harmonize demanded to leave the label before his contract expired.

Harmonize officially quit Wasafi in August 2019 after complaining about his contract. He had signed a 15-year contract with Diamond’s label.

The ‘Kwangwaru’ hitmaker decided to terminate the contract with WCB just four years after he felt he was no longer getting value for his output. He was forced to pay Wasafi Ksh24 million for ditching the label prematurely.

Harmonize was reportedly forced to sell his three houses and a piece of land to raise the Ksh24 million that Wasafi demanded for leaving the label before his contract expired.

He was forced to part with the full amount so that WCB could allow him full rights ownership to the songs he did under WCB (all of his songs at the time were recorded and produced by Wasafi).

Harmonize left Wasafi a bitter man and has been beefing with Diamond Platnumz to date, always antagonizing his former boss.
