A while back, dancehall musician KRG was the talk of town as he was very vocal on social media. He however took a break and so little is heard of him nowadays. Some claimed that KRG had gone broke and others suggested that he was suffering from depression hence his rare presence on social media in the recent times.
“”Mimi niko kwa ground living life on land not online anymore and attending to important matters. Time ya clout chasing ndio sina kabisa in 2025,” he said mid last month following rising concerns from netizens.
YouTuber Trudy Kitui caught up with him recently and KRG detailed why he was forced out of the limelight.
“Am okay, I am just busy with other things. Things are many in my world. I have a lot of things that I am working on, soon they will be revealed to the public,” he said.
Some of the things that had limited him from online include;
Political career
KRG is eyeing a political seat in the 2027 general elections. Therefore he has to put things in place to ensure that he wins the seat.
In a past interview, KRG said that he will start by vying for a Member of Parliament seat.
Personal businesses
Aside from music, KRG is a businessman. He owns a construction company, a tours and travel company and he is also believed to be the owner of Casa Vera Lounge in Kilimani. These are some of the things he in concentrating on after leaving social media.
“I had to hold to do my businesses and plan. I had to focus,” he told Kitui.
Family
KRG also acknowledged the fact that he is a father and that he must handle the responsibilities that come with the title.
“I have to take sometime and check on a few things that I have to take care of as a father,” he said.
He no longer has time to attend to interviews and chase clout. He is a father of four.
Peace
The singer has admitted that being away from social media gives him peace, and he loves that so much.
“I enjoy more because I also watch and get entertained by other people,” he said.
Being active on social media subjects one to scrutiny, bullying and trolls, that sometimes takes a toll on a person’s mental health. With a less presence on social media, the musician no longer has to worry about such.
What he has discovered from the break
“I didn’t know that I was the one carrying the whole industry(music and entertainment) alone, I came to realize later after I went quiet. People were calling saying they were waiting,” he said.
KRG promised that he will be back with a bang. According to him he has great and international collabos lined up for his fans.
