The former actor, in the famously know Citizen TV show ‘Tahidi High’ revealed that he faced difficulties trying to live a normal life over the past decade due to the various social norms that have been imposed on people who are queer.
Makena’s preference is to be addressed using the pronouns “they” and “them”. This decision may be viewed as controversial by some, but it does not come as a surprise to those who follow Makena’s views on sexuality and LGBTQ issues, which she has been open about for a long time.
“I remember looking at myself in the mirror after many years and, for the first time in my life, I said to myself,I am gay, I am unique, and this is my truth,” she revealed.
